LO3.3: Audio dubbing

Image
The audio file for the original footage is the bottom file. The audio file automatically syncs with the original footage if you move the file. If you are using an audio file and a video but the audio isn't synced to the video, you will need to move both files so they're together so the footage links and is synced. The music that is added will need to be synced to the right video clip. This means it will be dragged across to the correct video clip.        If you unlink the audio file from the video. this will mean the audio will be a different file to thew video. This means if the audio isn't synced you can unlink the audio and sync it.  I unlinked the audio from the footage because there was needed background noise so the audio needed to be changed. I also unlinked the audio because the quality of the audio was low. This meant that it needed to be changed so the quality of the microphone was better. This audio is the audio that has been changed from the u...

LO3.1: Shot log

Image
The classroom shots have changed from the storyboard as we needed to change location from one classroom to another. For example, the storyboard shows the first shot of Mac entering the classroom as a medium shot but we actually filmed it as an over the shoulder shot as it looked better in that location. We also, filmed more wide shots compared to the storyboards as that allowed us to say multiple lines in a shot therefore making the continuity look better and the film not as cut up. In the storyboard, we have some background actors who randomly disappeared in our sample footage which didn’t make sense therefore meaning it was better to re shoot this scene so it looked more professional.

LO4: Feedback evaluation

After screen testing our film in front of an audience we have gathered feedback on survey money and we can see that we have improvements to make. We saw that at least everyone enjoyed what they saw on the film but we asked some questions on what could be better. In terms of the strengths of our film our feedback results show that our audience found our short film funny which was one of our goals to make a good comedy. In addition, we gained positive feedback on the camera shots we used as they gave the audience a sense of characters emotions trough facial expressions in the scenes and the location of atmosphere of were we filmed. We gathered a few comments complimenting our acting ability but I believe it could be improved. We were told to potentially film in a few more locations as we only filmed in 6, 3 of them being inside the college. To achieve this we could have filmed more scenes which would better demonstrate what’s happening and what is being built up to. This would mean that ...

LO4: Present and gain feedback on our short film

Image
We screen tested our film to a classroom of 10 people and sent them a survey to complete on survey monkey after watching our short film. We asked these questions to gain feedback on our Unit 5 short film.  This showcased to us that our audience enjoyed watching our film as 100% of them selected 'Yes' We asked our audience what were the strengths of our film and the majority of responses said that the comedy aspect was which is great for us as our short film was a comedy. We also asked our audience what we need to do to improve and we gained a mixture of responses for example some were saying we need to improve the continuity, some said we need adjust the audio and some said we need to film in more locations  Question 4 was asking the audience if they understood the story and the vast majority said 'Yes' as 9 out 10 understood the plot. We could potentially make the story a little clearer to make that score 100% 'Yes" We had mixed responses to this question as s...

LO2.1- Record short film

Image
This image was taken whilst filming a scene outside, this was our most commonly used piece of equipment. this is because a trip-pod is simple to set up and is needed to ensure footage is smooth and not shaky, it is set up simply by opening the trim-pods clips and pulling the legs down to the correct height you want the tripod to be. We applied the microphone attachment to the camera through the slide at the top, we did this to ensure our audio was as clear as possible. We had to make sure the audio was clear to give viewers as good as an experience as we can possibly provide. This the dolly cam we used whilst filming motion shots to ensure the footage wasn't shaky and creating as much realism as possible. It is typically used when following a character as the camera frame has wheels which enables it to be more accessible for various types of movements. Here you can see us changing the frame rate settings on the camera, we did this to make sure out footage was clean and no errors ca...

LO3.2- Footage screenshots

Image
In this part of the film, the pink fx is the text. This is the title sequence. The green fx is the music that is behind the title sequence. The music was taken from a copyright free website. This is because if the image was taken from a place that wasn't copyright free website, then the users who have access to the music could take further action.  These 2 fxs are both text. The text is explains what is happening the next day. This is so the audience know the story. The text says, later that day, this shows the audience where about the character is in the story. This is where we adjusted the audio as some clips were louder than other ones so we needed to increase the volume on some so it matched. This will make our film better to watch because of the audio keeps changing, it may become annoying for viewers to watch so this had to be changed.
